My rotator cuff was causing extreme pain when I tried to lift my arm equal to or above my shoulder, with Traver’s expert guidance and skill I can now move my shoulder in all different directions and lift heavy weight. He explained where he was placing the needles and why – very enlightening. I would highly recommend him if it is your first experience with acupunture or if you have been going for sometime!

I am a health care practitioner and spend most days prescribing medicine after medicine after medicine. I hope one day insurance companies will get on board with acupuncture and realize that many chronic ailments need a more holistic approach.
I have suffered from migraines for over 10 years and had tried everything Western medicine had to offer. I’d even tried Chiropractic and Physical Therapy. Nothing has helped as much as Acupuncture. I’ve noticed a huge difference in my mood as well. I definitely carry a lot of stress and have felt such a surge of endorphins post therapy with Alexandra.
As a client and as health care practitioner I recommend Alexandra to both my family and my patients.

I came to Traver for help after injuring my back during a workout. I was very concerned about how to treat it and when Traver said he could help with acupuncture, I decided to give it a try. During our first meeting Traver took great care in assessing my condition and he conducted a thoughtful, thorough evaluation of my general health. We then discussed my injury at length so that he could get a complete picture of what was happening and decide how to move forward. My back actually proved difficult to treat, but when one method didn’t get the results Traver wanted he tried another. He attacked my problem from every angle until we found a combination of treatments that worked. His willingness to work so hard to help me find relief made a huge difference in my recovery. The treatments helped reduce my pain, calm my muscle spasms and get me back in the gym! I had never experienced such a debilitating injury and Traver’s professional, caring manner helped put me at ease and turn my focus from fear to healing. I cannot recommend Traver highly enough, he is the best!

Alexandra has been my acupuncturist for a number of year and is the driving force behind my good health. Not only has she gone above and beyond in treating my acute injuries and athletic pains, she’s taught me about a whole new world with regards to food and wellness.
Alexandra took the extra time to design a unique program just for me comprised of treatments, nutritional changes, lifestyle changes, stretches and the works. I’ve never felt better and cannot recommend her highly enough!

I have suffered from chronic back problems (herniated disks at L4/L5 & L5/S1) for most of my adult life. Shortly after my injury and the realization that it was indeed chronic, I made a decision to not let the injury limit my life – which often put my will and my body at odds with one another.
A few years ago I decided to try surfing for the first time – it was something I always wanted to try and I really enjoyed my afternoon in the surf. Unfortunately, within 30 minutes of leaving the water my entire lower back had seized up. This sort of pain was nothing new to me; I knew it was the price I paid for being too active. There would be at least three days of intense pain and probably a week or two of nursing myself back to health before I could resume my life.
A mutual friend recommended I try acupuncture by Traver – a treatment for back pain I had heard of but was always skeptical. Traver did a fantastic job – he started off explaining the treatment, the types of needles he would be using, where he was going to position them and why. The treatment itself was remarkably calming – the exact opposite of what I was expecting. After the treatment was finished I noticed n major difference – my back had loosened up considerably and the pain had also decreased. With Traver’s help I was back to being active in a fraction of the time it usually took me to recover.

Traver Boehm is a natural healer. He has an innate ability to sense his client’s ailments, and is a skillful therapeutic practitioner. Throughout my treatment, Traver demonstrated a mastered knowledge of the human anatomy and physiology. Traver is an extremely confident acupuncturist and he is truly able to bridge the gap between Eastern and Western healing methods, not only for the benefit of his client’s understanding but for the overall benefit of his client’s healing process. Traver’s knowledge expands far beyond the limitless bounds of Eastern medicine and encompasses a wide variety of skill and experience. His background as a professional athlete and trainer gives him first hand knowledge of the limits and capabilities of the human body. Traver not only helped to heal my shoulder after a disabling injury, but he helped me gain a better understanding of my capacity as an athelete. I would strongly recommend Traver as an acupuncturist and a healer.

Alexandra brought me from severe sciatic pain to daily exercise and fitness. she’s inspirational. Nutrition is part of the success, of course, but they make you excited about it. Now I’m just on “tune up” status and so thankful. The best listener I’ve had in a long time!

Having suffered from a slightly weak and irritated knee for some time (wearing a brace whenever I work out) I sought the services of Traver. Admittedly I only sat for one session of acupuncture (with the electro stimulus) but immediately following the treatment felt noticeable effects. A week later I twice found myself working out and both times I had forgotten my brace, however I did not notice the lack of the brace until the end when I usually sit down to remove it. My knee has been pain free since.

Conventional western medicine failed to help my sinus/asthma problems, so I turned to acupuncture two years ago. I was getting sinus infections all the time and my breathing was always labored. After the first few acupuncture and herbal treatments with Traver, my respiratory problems began to disappear. I no longer rely on the corticosteroids, asthma inhalers and antibiotics prescribed to me by western doctors. I get acupuncture treatments three times a week and feel healthier than I have in years.

As an avid Crossfit’er, trainer, and overall active person, taking care of my body is imperative to my success and that of my clients. Recovery and treatment are two things that are often overlooked until it is too late for many athletes. After suffering from many nagging injuries and an inability to get a good night sleep I began to research alternative recovery and treatment methodologies. Previous to being told that Traver practiced alternative medicine, including acupuncture & Chinese medicine, I had only known Traver as the co-owner of CrossFit Pacific Coast, an awesome coach, and a great friend. After visiting Traver consistently every other week for about 3 months, my only regret was that I could not afford to go every week! Not only was Traver able to help my recovery process during each visit, he was also able to help solve my sleep issues. Most importantly Traver helped me to realize the value in alternative medicine and the power of the mind. I would recommend Traver and his services at Wellness Pacific Coast to anyone!

I went to see Traver for an old shoulder injury that had been acting up on me. Despite being an acupuncturist myself, I am careful about who I will allow to treat me. Traver’s style blends together an excellent base of clinical knowledge with a kindness of nature that makes one feel comfortable in his care. Needless to say, the treatments helped my shoulder immensely, and added a side-benefit of helping me sleep better.

During a CrossFit workout I tweaked my back and had to stop the workout immediately. I couldn’t move or even breathe without it being extremely painful. I tried stretching, lying down, massaging it, and using an ice/ heat patch, it was still excruciating and left me only able to take very shallow painful breaths. I called Traver and he had me come in for an acupuncture treatment. In addition to acupuncture Traver also massaged neck and back and it was honestly the best massage I’ve ever had. He also used an electric current to release the tension in the muscles in my back. I left the appointment able to move, breathe, and had no pain at all, and haven’t since. I trust Traver 100%, as it is very clear he knows exactly what he’s doing and what works, I will definitely go back to him anytime I’m in need of massage or acupuncture.

I have worked with Traver in three professional capacities. Within a Networking group, under his supervision while weightlifting, and he treats me with Chinese Medicine. I have been a professional
Massage Therapist is SB for ten years and own a local health and wellness service which acts as a brokerage for natural health professionals in Santa Barbara. I scout talent for this industry for a living and can tell you: Travers professionalism and compassion not only rival those of Five-Star therapists, but his healing energy is palatable and his practice profoundly healing. My two favorite parts about knowing Traver are the facts that he 1. Loves giving therapeutic acupuncture sessions and 2. Has a vast and effective arsonal of tools and techniques. I tell my high end and most valued clientele about his practice am impressed with his natural ability to connect with people of all walks of life.

During the spring of 2009 I was training for a summer marathon. Through the course of training I started developing knee swelling after long runs. The pain and swelling got so bad that I sought medical attention to help me with the problem. My regular physician wanted to just give me Vicodin and muscle relaxants for the problem. I did not want to take pain pills to mask the symptoms but really I wanted to cure the problem in my knees so I could continue training. Traver did just that through acupuncture. He used several techniques that first alleviated the pain and swelling in my knees and through the course of 4 sessions was able to cure my knees so that they no longer swelled or hurt during my training. Acupuncture was the key in getting my knees strong again and being able to run the marathon pain free and best of all I was even able to set a new PR!?I had previously tried acupuncture though a local acupuncturist in my area but it was not so happy with the service, but with Traver he didn’t just provide the service like everyone else. Traver took the time to completely diagnose the problem and continued to monitor my progress through out the course of the treatment. He is great with patients. I felt right at ease with him as he has a very comforting presence about him. He walked me through everything he was doing and answered every question I had about the procedure (I had a ton). His knowledge, experience, and his patient care practices are the biggest reasons in why I kept going back to him. He cares about his patients and even after the injury continued to check in on me. I have never experienced that level of service and felt that he really cared and wanted to help me.?Traver is by far the best acupuncturist I have seen and I can’t recommend him enough. I am very thankful that he was able to cure me of my knee problem instead of just masking the symptoms with pills like my regular physician wanted to do. Thank You Traver!

As a health conscious athlete and environmentalist, I have explored several alternative therapies over the years to include homeopathy, chiropractic, and everything in between. Yet I was admittedly skeptical and a bit nervous to try acupuncture. Having met Traver I was immediately put at ease by his kind and professional manner and his willingness to answer any and all of my many questions. He was patient and understanding about my initial anxiety and worked at helping me understand his methods and approach. I immediately felt relief (literally upon insertion of the needle) from sciatica pain that had been plaguing me for months. even after continuing my long distance running (often 10-20 miles at a time), i have only had one follow-up for the sciatica issue. Additionally, this past autumn I was afflicted with a persistent bug that i was struggling for weeks to clear on my own. With Traver’s help using acupuncture, Chinese herbs and other methods of Traditional Chinese Medicine, I recovered and was back to my energetic self and running and training again. I have been so pleased and pleasantly surprised by my experience and will continue to support Traver with my business and encouraging others to do the same.

I had an old shoulder and knee injury, which kept me from achieving a full range of motion in my arm, shoulder and leg. After going to Traver for acupuncture, along with doing a supplemental herb program that he recommended, I was able to regain full mobility in my arm and shoulder. Furthermore, I’m not a fan of needles, but with Traver you hardly notice them going in at all. A true professional, Traver is a health practitioner that strives to improve his client’s health one session at a time.

My workouts produced some great results, and one not so great…. tendonitis of my shoulder. It had gotten so bad that I could hardly raise my arm up, and nothing seemed to help, not ice or pain relievers, not even massage. After just one acupuncture treatment with Traver, I found that the pain was greatly reduced and I could lift my arm with ease. After my second treatment the pain was completely eliminated and, even though I continue to work out, it has never returned! Traver is a caring and highly skilled TCM practitioner. He combines competence and professionalism with a down to earth, approachable manner.

In the 6 weeks that I have been working with Traver, his ability to listen, research and employ new techniques is unmatched by any other acupuncturist or massage therapist I have visited. It’s clear he puts his heart and soul into his practice, as his gentle nature and kindness comes through in each session. His education coupled with his background as a competitive athlete enables him the rare ability to create a treatment plan that fits within his patients’ athletic goals and objectives vs. following rote medical guidelines. He has been able to provide me relief from a 5 year old, ongoing injury that I believed would plague me as long as I continue to be active. In addition to the initial musculoskeletal injury for which I initially visited Traver, he’s also been able to help me with sleep issues and other nagging aches and pains. I would recommend Traver, hands down, to the competitive athlete, weekend warrior or anyone else in need of physical or mental tune-up.

Since starting to see Traver for acupuncture and cupping, my overall wellness and health as an athlete has improved immensely. When I first began this type of therapy, I had poor range of motion in my shoulder from a previous injury. After receiving acupuncture and cupping for the last four to five months, I can confidently say that I am a new person. My shoulder is virtually pain-free and my overall mentality, after coming back from an injury that I would have gotten surgery on otherwise, has made my life better. In addition to being a great acupuncturist, Traver is a great therapist in that he takes time to listen to his patients and evaluate what ails them based on the whole patient, not just mere symptoms. He treats the entire individual; I think that is why this type of healing has worked for me.

I came to Traver for treatment for alopecia, after hearing from a Western doctor that I’d have to apply a topical steroid for at least 18 months before I could even hope to see any hair regrowth–and even then, that was not guaranteed. After consulting with Traver and following the protocol he prescribed, my hair started to grow back within weeks and is now fully restored. Traver’s medical skill is matched by his empathy and commitment to treating the whole person. When we discussed my diagnosis, he was very concerned with my overall health in addition to my alopecia symptoms, helping me see how my behaviors, the stress levels in my life, and my diet could all affect me and manifest as various maladies. I trust him implicitly, would recommend him without hesitation to others, and am grateful to have him as a medical consultant and friend.
